Frequently Asked Questions
Are there changing rooms and showers on site?
Our changing rooms on site at Pinkston have reopened! The changing rooms consist of showers and toilets with separate changing rooms for u18s and over 18s.

How long is a session?
A session is classed as 15 minutes in the water, we call it a 'set'. This is generally the industry standard either on the boat or cable.

Can I book more than one session at a time?
Yes! If you would like to book more than one session at a time, you can either select 'check out more services' in the booking confirmation page, or give us a call on 07415787260 to discuss larger bookings.

I haven’t wakeboarded before - do you do lessons and how is it best to get started?
Yes we do lessons. Every session on the cable is coached on a one to one basis with a qualified system 2 cable operator. The best package for you is our “Learn to Wakeboard” deal where we will provide you with all the equipment required, give you a full dry land lesson and then you will have a 15 minute set in the water.

What should I bring with me?
We can provide all the required equipment and wetsuits but you should bring:
-
Some swimwear for under your wetsuit.
-
A towel for afterwards.
-
Some flip-flops or spare shoes you don’t mind getting wet as there is a short walk to the park from the reception.
-
Weather dependent, a hat and gloves if it is going to be cold on the dock.

I have my own kit, can I use it?
Yes you can, you are more than welcome to.

Can I just turn up or do I have to book?
Please book in advance to avoid disappointment, and to allow us to prepare for your session. To book in, simply navigate to our bookings page and select the time that suits you.

I have booked a session at 1pm, should I turn up at 1pm?
You should arrive 30 minutes before your booked time so you can check in, get your wetsuit on, then walk along to the dock for your dry land lesson and wakeboarding session.

Where do I check in?
We have a reception based at the Pinkston Paddle Centre, 75 North Canal Bank St, Glasgow, G4 9XP. There are two shipping containers facing North Canal Bank Street where you will be able to see our sign on one of the doors.

How young can kids start wakeboarding?
Kids can begin wakeboarding with us if they are 10 years old, but we welcome younger children if they are confident in the water - give us a call to discuss further!

What is the water quality like?
We regularly test the quality of the water and display the results in our reception. The testing results have consistently come back with the water quality classed as excellent under the bathing waters standards. However, there is an assumed risk with participating in a water sport in the canal as the water quality cannot be controlled.
