SCOTLAND'S FIRST URBAN WAKEPARK

FAQ

I haven’t wakeboarded before do you do lessons and how is it best to get started?
Yes we do lessons. Every session on the cable is coached on a one to one basis with a qualified system 2 cable operator. The best package for you is our “Learn to Wakeboard” deal where we will provide you with all the equipment required, give you a full dry land lesson and then you will have a 15 minute set in the water.

How long is a session?
A session will be classed as 15 minutes in the water we call it a set.  This is generally the industry standard either on the boat or cable.

What should I bring with me?
We can provide all the required equipment and wetsuits but you should bring:

  • Some swim gear to wear under your wetsuit.
  • A towel for your shower afterwards
  • Some flip-flops  or spare shoes you don’t mind getting wet as there is a short walk to the park from the changing facilities.
  • Weather dependant, a hat and gloves if it is going to be cold on the dock.

I have my own kit, can I use it?
Yes you can, you are more than welcome to.

Can I just turn up or do I have to book?
It is definitely better to book in to avoid disappointment and to let us have the park organised for you. To book just give us a quick call, text message, email or facebook message and we will come back to you.

I have booked for a set at 1pm should I turn up at 1pm?
No, the time you have booked is the time your set will start on the water. If it is your first visit you should arrive 1 hour before your booked time so you can check in, get your wetsuit on for riding, then walk along to the dock for your dry land lesson and set in the water.

Where do I check in?
We have a reception based at the Pinkston Paddle Centre, 75 North Canal Bank St, Glasgow, G4 9XP. There are two shipping containers facing North Canal Bank Street you will be able to see our sign on one of the doors.

Do you do a kids Program? How young can kids start?
Yes we will. We will run the British Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation’s Cutting Edge Program. It follows a step by step progression so it is easy to track how much you have improved since your last session and compared to your friends. Please contact us for more information. Kids can start with us if they are 10 years old and are confident in the water.

What is the water quality like?
We regularly test the quality of the water and display the results in our reception. The testing results have consistently come back with the water quality classed as excellent under the bathing waters standards. However there is an assumed risk with participating in a water sport in the canal as the water quality cannot be controlled.
